Bam Adebayo opened up about Jimmy Butler's potential departure from the Miami Heat amid ongoing tensions between Butler and the organization. Butler has had a falling out with Heat president Pat Riley, leading him to seek a move away from South Beach.
In an interview Saturday, Adebayo was asked about Butler’s situation. The big man emphasized his commitment to the team’s goals and staying focused on the season.
“I mean, s**t, you live with what happens," Adebayo said. "Like I said, we’re worried about what we can control, and we can’t control that. That’s up to management and (Butler).
"That is their decision. That's (management) communicating with him. For us, we still got to go out and play games. So we're going to worry about that.”

Jimmy Butler suspended for seven games
After six seasons with the Heat, the Jimmy Buckets era may be nearing its end. Miami suspended Butler on Friday following his public admission of dissatisfaction in South Beach and his preference for a change of scenery.
According to the team, Butler’s behavior had disrupted team cohesion, particularly in recent weeks. The Heat said they would work on Butler’s trade request.
"We have suspended Jimmy Butler for seven games for multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team over the course of the season and particularly the last several weeks," the team's statement read.
"Through his actions and statements, he has shown he no longer wants to be part of this team. Jimmy Butler and his representative have indicated that they wish to be traded, therefore, we will listen to offers."
No deal has materialized as of this story's writing. The Golden State Warriors initially expressed interest in Butler but have reportedly shifted their focus to Nikola Vucevic as a trade target.
Butler led Miami to two Finals appearances in 2020 and 2023. The Heat lost both times.
