Pippen Jr.'s mother Larsa Pippen also reposted the post on her IG story and wrote in the caption:
"Let's go @spippenjr."
This is the third time this season that Scotty Pippen Jr. has had 10 or more assists in the game. This is also the third time this season that he has had a points and assists double-double game.
Given how great Pippen Jr. has been playing so far as a backup point guard, it shouldn't be surprising to see him in the Sixth Man of the Year conversation.
Scotty Pippen Jr. is having a very efficient season with the Grizzlies
When Scotty Pippen Jr. started his NBA career with the LA Lakers, it was hard to see how far the son of the NBA legend would go in his career.
At 6-foot-1, it was hard to see Pippen Jr. having an impactful career in a league dominated by bigger men. However, it seems like the Grizzlies have been able to unlock Pippen Jr. to the best of his ability.
Last season, Pippen made the most of the opportunity when he got the chance to play in the final 21 games of the season with most of the starters out for the season due to injuries. He started 16 of the 21 games and proved his worth. He averaged 12.9 points, 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
When Scotty Pippen Jr. got another opportunity this season from coach Taylor Jenkins, he has been capitalizing on it big time. Pippen has appeared in all seven games for the Grizzlies this season and come off the bench.
Despite averaging just over 25 minutes, Pippen's numbers are better than most of the starters in the league. Playing as a backup point guard behind Ja Morant, Scotty Pippen Jr. has been averaging 11.0 points, 7.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Pippen is also shooting 50.0% from the field and 41.2% from the 3-point line.
