Before this, Pippen wanted his followers on X to share their thoughts about the coin.

"Trump launched a meme coin... what are your thoughts about it?" he wrote.

Launching the cryptocurrency called $TRUMP on Friday, the President-elect's latest move has taken the world by storm. Released on the Solana blockchain platform, the coin has seen a massive surge in the last few days, with its initial base price being $0.18.

Within a day the coin skyrocketed in value, jumping to $7.1 before hitting a ceiling of $21.51 in a few hours. This master play has allowed the coin's value to rise staggeringly, with the coin's market cap currently sitting at $14.5 billion, per CoinMarketCap.

Donald Trump announced the launch of a new currency on his X account, encouraging his followers to purchase the token through his website. Scottie Pippen, who has been trying to monetize his Game 5 basketball from the 1991 NBA Finals, has been active in the crypto industry. Trump's latest move seems to have impressed him, to say the least.

Scottie Pippen opens up about his relationship with former teammate Michael Jordan

Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan had one of the best partnerships in NBA history. The duo won six NBA championships together, and despite their success on the court, the pair's relationship off it remains strained.

During an episode of the "PBD Podcast" released on Saturday, Pippen opened up on his relationship with Michael Jordan. Expressing that they have not been talking since the pandemic, the Bulls legend said:

"I was never Jordan's friend."

Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan's relationship began to deteriorate during the release of Netflix's documentary "The Last Dance." Pippen was unhappy with how he and the team were portrayed in the series, which created a significant rift between the two. He also expressed that their relationship had reached a point where it could no longer be salvaged.
