Scotty Pippen Jr. got the start on Sunday night for the Memphis Grizzlies against the Washington Wizards. Pippen has been one of the best backup guards in the NBA this season and his number was called again tonight. He started in place of Ja Morant, who was given a rest since the Grizzlies are playing the second game of a back-to-back.

Pippen is averaging 14.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in nine starts this season. He's shooting 50.5% from the field, including 36.7% from beyond the arc, and 74.1% from the free throw line in those games.

The son of the Chicago Bulls legend finished the Grizzlies' easy 140-112 win over the Wizard with a double-double of 14 points and 12 assists. He didn't even have to play in the fourth quarter as Memphis made it look effortless against the worst team in the league.

In the first quarter versus the Washington Wizards, Scotty Pippen Jr. had six points, three rebounds and four assists. The Memphis Grizzlies quickly built a double-digit lead midway through the period.

The Wizards might be coming off a shocking win over the Denver Nuggets, but they still own the worst record in the NBA at 3-18. Memphis turned it up a notch in the second half to blow away the Wizards.

Pippen didn't do much scoring, but added two points and four assists. It was a masterclass performance for the Grizzlies despite not having Morant or Desmond Bane on the lineup.

Scotty Pippen Jr. got his double-double in the third quarter as the Memphis Grizzlies further took control of the game. Pippen had 14 points and 12 assists in total before getting subbed out with three minutes left in the period. He also had four turnovers at that point, but it was not important since they were up big.

In the final quarter, the Grizzlies emptied their bench and Pippen got the rest of the night off. It was an impressive performance for the second-generation NBA player as Memphis earned a 140-112 victory without two of their best players in the lineup.

Pippen will likely return to his off the bench role for the Grizzlies' next game on Friday against the Brooklyn Nets. They are back at home in the FedEx Forum after a successful two-game road trip in Boston and Washington D.C.
