As the Jimmy Butler saga continues to unfold, it has become one of the biggest storylines in the NBA this season. While the All-Star continues seeking out a change of scenery, new developments have emerged regarding his disconnect with the franchise.
Butler is currently finishing up a seven-game suspension the team issued early this month, and has still made it clear that he wishes to be traded. Recent reports suggest another reason why this fallout has grown into what it is now.
According to insider Chris Haynes, Jimmy Butler was the victim an accounting error on the Heat's part over the summer. It took nearly two weeks to fix, leaving him without a paycheck. Following this news, fans took to social media to give their thoughts on this coincidental situation.

Other fans are starting to get amazed at how ugly things have gotten between Butler and the Heat dating back to the end of last season.
"It’s getting toxic lmao," one fan said.
"This is getting messy lol," another fan said.
"Lol this is a nightmare. Now I’m starting to think Jimmy is justified," said one fan.
The Heat openly stated that they'd begin listening to trade offers when they first suspended Butler, but no deal has surfaced yet.
NBA insider reports on Jimmy Butler's face-to-face meeting with Pat Riley
As his suspension gets ready to come to an end, Jimmy Butler reportedly had a face-to-face meeting with Miami Heat executive Pat Riley. Following this ordeal, nothing has changed in regards to him wanting a trade.
On Tuesday, NBA insider Shams Charania reported that Butler told the Heat he will never sign another contract with them. He also brought up his impending player option, stating he'll use it to get a trade done if needed.
"Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler reiterated to team president Pat Riley in a face-to-face meeting last week that he wants to be traded, league sources told ESPN.
Butler told Riley that he will not sign a new deal in Miami and that he intends to use his $52 million player option for 2025-26 in the offseason only as a trade maneuver, sources said."
When Butler first requested a trade, he gave the Heat a shortlist of teams he'd prefer to end up on. Among those mentioned were the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks. However, he later told the organization that he'd be willing to play anywhere as long as it isn't Miami.
As far as trade rumors go, the Suns have been the most consistent team connected to Butler. The clock is ticking for Riley and the Heat with the February 6th deadline roughly three weeks away.
