Serena Williams and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, are close friends with Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Over the past few years, they sometimes get together on special occasions. Recently, the tennis legend and the tech guru attended the celebrity golf tournament the Antetokounmpo brothers hosted to honor their late father.
On Saturday, Ohanian received a gift from the two-time NBA MVP. The internet entrepreneur went on Instagram to share a video of the unboxing and wrote:
“Thanks.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo is known for his love of sweets. In June 2023, Ante Inc. became a major stakeholder in Candy Funhouse, a Canadian brand that produces sought-after candies.
Since Alexis Ohanian and his daughter, Alexis Olympia, were tasting candies, Antetokounmpo did not miss the opportunity to send them some from his brand. Inside the big red boxes were small packs of Neuro Gums in different flavors. The blue and red ones were for “Energy & Focus,” while the violet packs were for “Sleep & Recharge.”
Ohanian and Olympia also tasted candies from other brands, but it was only to the Milwaukee Bucks All-Star that they gave a shout-out.
Serena Williams’ husband once praised Giannis Antetokounmpo and brothers for their foundation to honor their father
In September 2017, Charles Antetokounmpo, the father of Giannis Antetokounmpo, died of a heart attack at the age of 54. To honor him, Antetokounmpo, with brothers Kostas, Thanasis and Francis, started the Charles Antetokounmpo Family Foundation. Serena Williams and Alexia Ohanian were founding members of the project.
In 2024, the foundation held a golf tournament to commemorate the life of Charles. Ohanian went on X, formerly Twitter, to give the Antetokounmpo brothers a message after the event, writing:
“Getting to know Giannis, Thanasis, and their family over the years has been a joy (and inspiring as hell) — he's the real deal and I'm so happy to be a Day Zero supporter of his foundation, honoring his dad's great legacy.”
The decision to choose golf to mingle with friends and family was deliberate. Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams and Venus Williams are partners in the Tiger Woods-founded "The Los Angeles Golf Club."
Roughly a month after Ohanian and the Williams sisters became stakeholders, Giannis Antetokounmpo and his brothers also joined the ownership group. They used golf to honor the legacy of Charles Antetokounmpo.
