Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks might have not gotten off to the best start in the 2024-25 season, but that hasn’t stopped the Greek superstar from being his wholesome self.

Fan interactions are a part and parcel of the game and Antetokounmpo took it upon himself to make a young fan’s day on Halloween.

The video was shared on Instagram by @onmatel and @abovethemantel. In the clip, the young girl was seen wishing the one-time MVP before his game. After the game ended, Giannis walked up to the girl and offered her his game-worn shoes, saying it would match her outfit.

The kind gesture caught the attention of Alexis Ohanian, as he responded in the comments section:

“People’s champ.”

Ohanian is Serena Williams’ husband and the two have been married since 2017. He is best known for being a co-founder of Reddit and is worth $150 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth.

While it’s common for NBA stars to share their game-worn stuff with fans, this instance was particularly noteworthy. The Bucks were coming off a 122-99 blowout loss against the Memphis Grizzlies on the road.

Despite Antetokounmpo’s 37 points and 11 rebounds, the rest of the team failed to show up, including Damian Lillard who had just four points.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s gesture showed that irrespective of the frustrations on the court, his kind and pleasant personality prevailed off of it.

Giannis Antetokounmpo says he doesn’t follow politics much after Donald Trump questioned his Greek heritage

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the most famous Greek NBA player ever and there’s no argument around it. During former President Donald Trump’s rally at Fiserv Forum on Friday, he appeared to take a sly dig at Antetokounmpo’s Greek heritage:

“And tell me who has more Greek in him? The Greek or me? I think we have about the same, right?”

Trump appeared to reference the Bucks forward’s Nigerian descent even though he was born in Athens. Antetokounmpo was asked about the comments after Milwaukee’s heartbreaking 114-113 loss at home to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, to which he replied, via Green Bay Press Gazette:

“I'm not aware of the comments. At the end of the day, I don't follow politics that much. And the little that I follow, I try to keep my political views to myself and my family. I'm here to, you know, win basketball games and not answer to non-basketball questions. But, I wish both candidates best of luck.”

While Trump’s comments were critical to say the least, Antetokounmpo and the Bucks have more pressing questions to answer after starting the season 1-5.
