During his time as a TV analyst, Shaquille O'Neal has let out some bold statements regarding players. However, the Hall of Fame big man recently took aim at a longtime ref following recent news.
On Tuesday, NBA insider Fred Katz reported that official Scott Foster suffered a calf injury while calling a game between the New York Knicks and Miami Heat this week. He was unable to finish the matchup, leaving the crew shorthanded to finish the game.
As of now, it remains unclear how long Foster will be out while recovering from this injury. This news sent waves through the NBA world, with Shaquille O'Neal among those chiming in.

Based on his latest social media activity, it doesn't appear that Shaq is going to miss Foster while he is out. The LA Lakers legend was seen commenting on an Instagram post of the news with a rather savage response.
"Good," Shaq wrote.

Foster is one of the longest-tenured refs in the NBA, currently in the midst of his 29th season. He's officiated over 1,600 regular season games and 241 postseason matchups.
With the playoffs just around the corner, the league could find itself without one of its most experienced referees.
Shaquille O'Neal buys into the theory that the Dallas Mavericks are cursed
When he isn't talking about the NBA on TNT, Shaquille O'Neal gives his take on all things in and around the league on his "The Big Podcast." In his latest episode, the former MVP bought into a theory of one team becoming cursed because of their recent decisions.
At the trade deadline, the basketball world was left speechless when the Dallas Mavericks traded Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers. Since this league-altering deal went down, the two teams have gone in drastically different directions. The Lakers are battling for a top-two seed in the West, while the Mavs have been ravished by injuries.
During Sunday's episode of "The Big Podcast," Adam Lefkoe laid out a theory that the Mavericks are now cursed for trading Doncic. He compared it back to when the Red Sox went through decades of suffering after trading Babe Ruth to the Yankees. Shaquille O'Neal ended up buying into this logic and then made a definitive statement that the Mavs need to win a title before LA.
"I wasn't thinking about it, but since you mentioned it, yeah," Shaq said. "They definitely got to win before the Lakers."
As things currently stand, it doesn't look good for the Mavericks to get to a title before the Lakers. Anthony Davis still hasn't played in a game since being injured in his debut, and Kyrie Irving is out for an extended period due to an ACL injury.
Cursed theories aside, there's no denying the Mavericks have set themselves back in a big way following the Doncic trade.
