Travis Hunter drew a wide array of reactions after winning the 2024 Heisman Trophy on Saturday. The Colorado Buffaloes star decided to make his response short and sweet for those who were less than welcoming of his accomplishment.

A few hours after being named the best U.S. college football player, Hunter posted a selfie with the trophy. The caption read simply:

"Nana boo-boo"

Though this message for his naysayers is reminiscent of playground taunts, Hunter garnered plenty of support after he posted his selfie and the three-word caption.

Former Orlando Magic point guard RJ Hampton commented "Earned" along with a trophy emoji. Meanwhile, one-time NBA champion and "All the Smoke" co-host Matt Barnes said "Salute champ" and Myles O'Neal, son of legendary big man Shaquille, paid Hunter a compliment by commenting "Legendary."

In addition, actress Pilar Sanders—who was once married to Hunter's coach Deion Sanders—wrote "CONGRATULATIONS" in celebration of the 21-year-old's feat. All these positive reactions indicate that Hunter has drawn support from more than one sporting community.

Travis Hunter draws praise from NBA greats

Among the well-wishers of Hunter are NBA stars who have their own cache of prestigious accomplishments.

NBA champion Kevin Garnett posted an IG story expressing high praise for Hunter:

"Congratulations to the Buh BIG TRAVIS HUNTER..You did that this year my boy!! We'll deserving bro #hiesmantrophy Winner," said KG.

Milwaukee Bucks All-NBA guard Damian Lillard also shared a story celebrating Hunter as this year's winner of the Heisman.

"Yessir @db3_tip," read Lillard's caption.

Both Garnett and Lillard know what it's like to be recognized for their individual greatness in their sport. Garnett, who won the NBA MVP award in 2003-04, made the All-NBA Team nine times and the All-Defensive Team a whopping 12 times. Lillard, meanwhile, has been named to the All-NBA Team seven times. Moreover, these two superstars were also named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021.

Coach Prime puts Travis Hunter's success into perspective

Out of all the sports personalities who have raved about the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner, perhaps none was as proud as the young man's longtime college coach.

Hall of Famer Deion Sanders gave credit where credit is due in his Saturday post on Hunter's success.

"God is good! And he gave GOD THE GLORY!"

Sanders and Hunter first worked alongside each other at Jackson State, and when the time came for Coach Prime to move to Colorado, Hunter was not far behind.

As Hunter gears up for the 2025 NFL draft, he'll continue to draw positive and not-so-positive reactions. For the time being, though, he'll get to bask in the praise of admirers across different fields.
