LeBron James' LA Lakers suffered a season-worst 134-93 blowout road loss to the Miami Heat on Wednesday. Afterward, "Showtime" Lakers legend James Worthy ripped into the squad, calling for it to do introspection ahead of its next game.

LA struggled to generate offense for the second consecutive outing, shooting just 37-for-88 (42.0%) and 5-for-22 from 3-point range (22.7%). Meanwhile, it offered little defensive resistance, allowing Miami to shoot a blistering 52-for-90 (57.8%) and 24-for-47 from downtown (51.1%).

The Heat's 24 triples tied their franchise record, while they also set a team-high in assists with 42.

James bounced back from his season-low 10-point performance during Monday's 109-80 road loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He finished with a team-best 29 points, five rebounds and eight assists, shooting 66.7%. However, no other Laker scored more than 14 points as they trailed by double digits most of the evening.

With Wednesday's 41-point defeat, LA has lost its last two contests by a combined 70 points. Additionally, it has dropped six of its last eight games.

Following the team's latest beatdown, Worthy didn't hold back. The three-time NBA champion called for the Lakers to do soul-searching to ensure they don't replicate their letdown effort. He added that their current play level isn't meeting the prestigious organization's high standards.

"They need to get on the bus tonight, get some White Castle burgers, and drive to Atlanta," Worthy said. "And they need to think about who they are and what they need to do because what they're doing right now ain't even close to Laker basketball. Not even close."

LA (12-10) concludes its four-game road trip on Friday against the surging Atlanta Hawks (12-11), who have won five straight games.

LeBron James and JJ Redick express embarrassment after Lakers' 41-point loss to Heat

After Wednesday's lopsided defeat, Lakers coach JJ Redick conveyed his squad's embarrassment with its underwhelming effort, highlighting the need for on-court accountability.

"I'm embarrassed, we're embarrassed," Redick said. "It's not a game that I thought we had the right fight, the right professionalism. Not sure what was lost in translation. There has to be some ownership on the court."

LeBron James reiterated his coach's postgame message, adding that he was "definitely embarrassed." The four-time MVP also challenged his squad's competitive spirit, noting that it shouldn't be over-dependent on coaching.

"There are no schemes or X's and O's that are gonna get you through that," James said. "If you don't want to come to compete, then that's other issues. We've gotta figure it out."

Thus, LA should be plenty motivated for redemption on Friday against Atlanta.
