Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets have been going through a rough patch this season. With Kyrie Irving's off-court issues and the lackluster performances of Ben Simmons, the Nets have struggled to dominate games this season.

In a recent interview, KD spoke about his legacy and the ongoing struggles with the team. The interview didn't sit too well with Skip Bayless, who weighed in on some of the comments Durant made:

"I thought everything Kevin said was pathetic. I thought his comments about why he demanded a trade were pathetic. I thought his comments about leadership were contradictory and pathetic."

Bayless then changed gears, and broke down what he didn't like about KD's comments:

"I thought the shot he took at their starting lineup at Sacramento was completely unnecessary and ultimately pathetic. I thought his explanation of why he does not need a ring to validate him away from Golden State and Steph and Klay and Draymond was absolutely, completely utterly pathetic."

The comments came during a recent episode of "Undisputed with Skip & Shannon" on Thursday, which you can see below. Bayless' comments begin around the 8:30 mark.

What did Kevin Durant say in his recent interview?

Kevin Durant took part in two interviews this week. He spoke about his thought process in the offseason and also addressed the controversy surrounding coach Steve Nash's departure.

While many thought Durant issued an ultimatum to the team that it's either him or Nash, KD said there was more to the situation. He asked the team and Nash to work on specific things during practice. In addition, he wanted to be coached more during film reviews and breakdowns.

Durant said that things changed after he made a conscious decision to be happy when he's on the court playing basketball. As he explained, it ultimately was all about basketball.

KD also gave his thoughts on Kyrie Irving's ongoing suspension.

"I just want everything to be, all of us to be aligned. It was a rough situation and I felt like both sides learned more about each other, so, hopefully, going forward, he can just move on. We can move on, just play ball. I miss seeing him out here. I miss playing with him. Most of that stuff is out of my control, so I try not to focus on it too much," Kevin Durant said.
