Veteran analyst Skip Bayless shared his reaction after LeBron James missed a game-tying 3-pointer during the Lakers' 117-114 loss to the Detroit Pistons on Monday. With 3.7 seconds left on the clock and the Lakers trailing by three, coach JJ Redick designed a play to give LeBron an opportunity to take the critical shot.
The 20-time All-Star attempted a deep 3-pointer, but the ball hit the rim and bounced out, sealing the Lakers' second loss to the Pistons this season.
Following the missed shot, Bayless wasted no time offering his candid take, once again casting doubt on the four-time NBA champion's ability to deliver in clutch moments.

"No surprise, LeBron missed a wide-open 3 to tie at the buzzer - short left," Skip tweeted. "He was great until real clutch was required. BAD SIGN: LAKERS LOSE AT HOME TO THE PISTONS, WHO SWEPT THEM."
Meanwhile, LeBron recorded another stellar performance, finishing with an impressive triple-double game. The four-time NBA champion finished the game with 28 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, shooting an efficient 10 of 16 from the field, including 2 of 4 from beyond the arc.
In a clutch fourth quarter, LeBron scored 14 points, nearly sparking a comeback for the Lakers as they battled back from a double-digit deficit to stay in contention for the win.
Fans react to LeBron James' missed shot in clutch
Hoops fans took to social media to share their reactions to LeBron James' missed game-tying 3-pointer. While some echoed Skip Bayless' criticism of the Lakers superstar, others praised LeBron for his efforts in keeping the team competitive until the very end.
"That’s why LeBron will never be the GOAT. Can’t make the big shots with the game on the line!" a fan wrote.
"Lebron in his career depends on others to hit the clutch shot. In most cases," commented another user.
"They were only in that game because of what Bron did in the last 5 minutes buddy," a user said.
"Man had a triple double at almost 40 years old. That's a really tough shot to make, too. They just need to work on their passing skills and leaving that damn 3 open," wrote another user.
LeBron is set to face off against his long-time rival, Steph Curry, when the Lakers take on the Golden State Warriors in their marquee Christmas Day matchup.
