LeBron James - Los Angeles Lakers v Philadelphia 76ers

Skip Bayless is back at it again, ripping on LeBron James. Bayless went on record to say that he is not a James hater. He said he is simply spitting cold hard facts about how James is afraid to make clutch plays. Bayless thinks that LBJ doesn't have the clutch gene, which makes the NBA superstar incomparable to Michael Jordan.

Bayless referred to the LA Lakers' most recent game against the Cleveland Cavaliers as proof of LeBron James' shortcomings. He pointed out that the Lakers could've won on December 7 had James made significant contributions in the fourth quarter. LBJ ended up with zero points in the final quarter, which was a huge letdown for LA considering it was a tied game. Here's what he said on the Skip Bayless Show:

"At Cleveland the other night, where he owns that arena, in a game begging for him to win it. The game was tied with eight minutes to go. LeBron James scored zero points in the fourth quarter... That's impossibly bad. That’s so not Jordanesque, choke city LeBron."

Is LeBron James the GOAT?

Let's face it, the GOAT conversation between LeBron James and Michael Jordan will never die down. Both players are among the greatest to ever do it in their respective generations. The only way the debate would truly end is if both players in their prime miraculously faced off against each other with the use of a time machine. Unfortunately, the only method accessible is through stats.

Taking a look at 'King' James' stats compared to MJ, the LA Lakers star has a slight edge. LBJ holds over 80 records in the NBA, including some wherein James has surpassed Jordan. In fact, he is on his way to beating the all-time record in career points this season. Some say that it's only due to LeBron's longevity.

Despite using James' longevity in a negative connotation, his durability as a player is quite remarkable. No one has ever witnessed an NBA player who's playing like he's still in his prime in the 20th season of their career. Michael Jordan obviously showed signs of aging in his final two seasons. Jordan ended his career after 15 campaigns.

When comparing LeBron James' 15th season stats to Jordan's, LBJ still has the edge. In MJ's last season with the Washington Wizards, he averaged 20 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. LeBron, on the other hand, averaged 27.5 points, 9.1 assists, 8.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game in year 15. As the saying goes, the numbers don't lie.

However, some people are too afraid to admit that James could possibly be a better player than Jordan. Annoying as it may be, they are pretty reasonable. Jordan has more title wins compared to LeBron. Jordan was a fierce competitor and didn't make any excuses on the court. Both legends undoubtedly have the heart, but only 'His Airness' has the strongest fighting spirit.
