The Boston Celtics got off to a strong start to the season, but they have been inconsistent lately as they have split their last 10 games
While they are still second in the Eastern Conference, some aren't convinced with Jayson Tatum's leadership, including former NBA player Brandon Jennings.
On Tuesday's episode of "Gil's Arena," Arenas questioned it and called him "soft."

"Is (Jayson Tatum) the softest Boston Celtics superstar ever?" Arenas said. "I think I’ll be more afraid of Jaylen Brown than Jayson Tatum."
Jennings drew criticism for his take. However, instead of backpedaling, he doubled down on it by saying that Tatum needs to win Finals MVP to prove him wrong.
It didn't take long before the fans called him out for it.
"i’m convinced Jennings smokes crack," one fan wrote.
"Someone really gotta ask Brandon Jennings if he knows the players he tries to hate on are better than he ever was and really figure what his issue is, at least mccants admits he hates on people just to do it lol," another fan said.
"Brandon fell for the bait man. He’s going along with the narrative that was created by the league. Tatum led in all categories and they still gave JB FMVP. That was bs and we all know it and now he’s using that to benefit his argument. He lowkey sound like a hater," a fan commented.
"He tweaking. He just saying anything at this point," Dallas Mavericks forward Markieff Morris wrote.
"Pierce would be the first guy to tell you that jt already surpassed him even without a fmvp," a fan said.
Jayson Tatum gets NBA honor after strong week
Jayson Tatum may not be the most vocal player in the league but he is one of the most impactful.
On Monday, he was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week after averaging 25.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.8 steals in 34.8 minutes, leading the Celtics to a 3-1 week with wins over the Toronto Raptors, Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets before losing to the OKC Thunder.
The Celtics have regressed offensively from last season, but they're still the team to beat until it's proven otherwise.
