Fans poked fun at Grant Williams for appearing in Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks. Williams played for the Celtics last season and signed with the Mavericks last summer. However, Dallas dealt him to the Charlotte Hornets at the trade deadline.
Several accounts shared the video of Williams greeting Celtics personnel in the tunnel along with Hornets teammates Brandon Miller and Mark Williams. Grant spent the first four seasons of his career in Boston before he went to the Mavericks in a sign-and-trade.
However, the 25-year-old forward's tenure in Dallas didn't last since he got traded to the Hornets at the deadline. It was a great move for the Mavs since they got Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington in a series of moves that led to their run to the NBA Finals.

NBA fans started to make fun of Grant Williams for his appearance on Monday night. Some pointed out his rumored feud with Luka Doncic when he was with the Dallas Mavericks, while others couldn't believe he was there to watch two of his former teams battle it out for the championship.
"Someone give Grant Williams a "Luka Sucks" shirt," one fan wrote.
"He thinks he can join in on the celebration if Celtics win," another fan commented.
"Loser of the series should have to take him back," a fan suggested.
Grant Williams picked the Boston Celtics to win Game 5, which means he's rooting for them to take home the championship. However, fans saw it as him cursing the Celtics to lose the game.
"He just cursed the Celtics," a fan wrote.
"Alright y'all Celtics already cooked. On to Game 6," another fan commented.
"Grant Williams has the chance to do the funniest thing ever tonight," one fan claimed.
Grant Williams preached team chemistry in Charlotte
The Charlotte Hornets might have found the veteran voice for their locker room to guide some of their young players such as LaMelo Ball, Mark Williams and Brandon Miller. Grant Williams preached building team chemistry this offseason during his exit interview.
"It's just a matter of continuing to grow in our discipline and and really our talent's not the issue. It's just a matter of now, it's just a matter of coming in next year and being ready to perform. Understanding what it takes to win every game, understanding how difficult it is, especially at this level. Winning is hard and you have to find a way to love that and enjoy it, so bringing these guys together," Williams said. [0:24 - 0:47]
The Charlotte Hornets enter the offseason hoping for LaMelo Ball and Mark Williams to be healthy. Miles Bridges will be a free agent, while Brandon Miller should be prepared to make the leap. They also have a new head coach in Charles Lee, who is one of the league's top assistants in the past few years.
