Ahead of the San Antonio Spurs' 109-106 win against the Houston Rockets on Saturday, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich gave his take on Donald Trump ahead of the upcoming US Presidential elections. Popovich did not hold back with his criticism of the Republican Party's Presidential candidate in his pregame interview:

"He's pathetic, he's small, he's a whiner, we all know that," Popovich said.

The Hall of Famer coach highlighted that Kamala Harris demolished Trump in the Presidential debate and also stated that Trump is "small fry" compared to others Harris has gone after:

"He is sick, he's a damaged man," Popovich continued. "He grew up the biggest wannabe there ever was in New York, we all know that, he wanted to be in the inner circle, but they laughed at him his whole life.

"He was never accepted, he was treated like a fool, like a clown, and now he is able to give the finger to the world because of his position now, and that's what he's doing. He's getting back at everybody because he's so small that he's gotta go after everybody."

Gregg Popovich also called out the "white men" around Donald Trump who stayed with the Republican Party's Presidential candidate despite labeling him "unfit for office" previously.

Gregg Popovich blasts Donald Trump for setting a bad example for America's youth

During the same interview, Gregg Popovich blasted Donald Trump for setting a bad example for America's youth. The Spurs coach touched on Trump's baseless claims that the 2020 election was fraught with fraud and elaborated on its effect on the nation's children.

"The biggest whiner that ever walked the face of the earth," Popovich said. "He's like the poorest example of a fifth-grade bully I've ever seen. I mean, would you want your kids to act like he does?
"Would you want your kids to make the excuses he does? Everybody's come after me, everybody, this, that and the other. I'm doing this for you. Poor me, poor me. Whine, whine, whine. And you look at it, the election that he lost, and he continues to lie about it."

Popovich also referred to his own grandchildren to point out that he wouldn't want Trump to be their mentor:

"Do I want him to be their mentor?" Popovich said. "Do I want him to be their example of how to act if it doesn't go well? Like everybody in this room, hopefully all of us taught our children, you're not going to win all the time, but when you win, be humble. When you lose, do it with grace. We all do that. He doesn't do that."

Gregg Popovich further elaborated on his criticism of Donald Trump during the interview as he spoke at length about the upcoming US Presidential elections.
