Despite the LA Lakers sitting in eighth place, chatter has started to surface about LeBron James being traded this season. As this narrative slowly starts to form, Stephen A. Smith decided to chime in with his thoughts.

While the Lakers had a strong start to the year, they've sputtered as of late. They are 1-3 in their last four games, and are barely clinging on to .500. This has resulted in some analysts tossing out the idea of the 20-time All-Star being moved before the deadline.

During Tuesday's episode of ESPN's First Take, Stephen A. reflected on the idea of LeBron James leaving the Lakers. He is completely against the idea and feels the star forward to remain in LA because of the situation he's created.

"I don't want to see it because LeBron James does not deserve it," Stephen A. said. "Stay yo a** right there in LA."

"Stay yo a** right there in southern California with Anthony Davis and figure it out."

The Golden State Warriors have been named as the team that should go after LeBron. They've been rumored to be in the mix for a star talent, and have been tied to the Lakers star in the past.

As he nears his 40th birthday, LeBron is still a highly impactful player. This season, he is averaging 23.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 9.1 assists.

Bronny James is expect to be part of any potential LeBron James trade

As of now, LeBron James has not requested a trade from the LA Lakers. Any talk of it is merely speculation. That said, if the hypothetical blockbuster were to go down, there is one noteworthy aspect to it.

Among the many factors that would go into a hypothetical LeBron trade is Bronny James. He's had the chance to make history playing alongside his son, and likely won't want to depart from him after just a few months.

According to Lakers insider Anthony Irwin, it is believed that Bronny would be packaged with LeBron James in the event he requested a trade.

"Sources close to the Lakers did say that, if James asked the Lakers to trade him, they would work with him to find a deal that lands him where he'd rather be, but also brings back the kind of return that would jumpstart a rebuild. If James was traded, it's also believed Bronny James would have to be part of the deal.”

Seeing that the Lakers are currently in a position to reach the postseason, it seems unlikely that LeBron would ask out. That said, anything can happen between now and the February deadline.
