Comedian Jaxon Simons, known on Instagram as "simonssaysjax," posted a reel on Thursday showing himself imitating four-time NBA champion Steph Curry. The clip featured the comedian imitating some of Curry's signature shots while in a gym.
Simons wasn't merely copying the star player's signature shot release from the Golden State Warriors; he was also mimicking other moves tied to Curry, including his signature taunts. This involved executing his shimmy and performing a turnaround before the shot went in, all while his mouthguard dangled loosely from his mouth. Additionally, Simons sported different Curry jerseys as he made his baskets.
Curry was tagged when Simons posted the reel and that did its job of catching the Warriors star's attention. In fact, Curry went on to leave a comment complimenting Simons for his spot-on impersonation.

One of Jaxon Simons' shots in viral clip is reminiscent of Steph Curry's buzzer-beater against the Suns
Steph Curry is no stranger to hitting circus shots that people try to emulate, in-game or otherwise. On Dec. 28, Curry created another viral moment when the Golden State Warriors faced the Phoenix Suns.
The intra-conference clash proved to be close as Golden State escaped with a four-point win (109-105). One of the defining moments of that game happened at the end of the first half when Curry hit a floater to beat the buzzer. However, it wasn't just a regular, run-of-the-mill floater.
Curry had to navigate around four Suns players, including his former teammate Kevin Durant. Curry dribbled the ball toward the left-side wing with only three seconds left but found KD in his path.
Meanwhile, Josh Okogie and Tyus Jones were in position for a trap. To avoid KD, Curry picked up the ball and maneuvered it behind his back, but 7-foot forward Oso Ighodaro was in the perfect position to stop him. This forced Curry to float the ball above the much taller forward, yet still sank it for the buzzer-beating two-point floater.
As the first half concluded, Curry's shot reduced the Suns's lead to four points. This behind-the-back floater resembled the first attempt made by comedian simonssaysjax in his viral IG reel.
In that game, Steph Curry went on to contribute 22 points, six rebounds and six assists. He went 9-for-22 on his shot attempts, including a 4-for-13 clip from the 3-point line.
