"Embarrassed" was the word Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry used when describing his team's humbling defeat to the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. Golden State suffered a 30-point loss to their Northern California rivals in a lopsided contest.
Following the 129-99 defeat, Curry was asked about the manner in which the Warriors lost the game. Curry did not hold back in his postgame press conference and made a bold statement regarding Golden State's current roster.
"Nobody likes to get embarrassed like that," said Curry. "So when you're looking up and it's a double digit lead before the first time out ... we are not really built for especially with that situation to have that crazy comeback."

Steph Curry went on to speak about the lack of execution and referred to the Warriors first quarter performance as "mindless." Steve Kerr's team trailed by 15 at the end of the first quarter and gave up another 39 points in the second quarter to fall behind by 24 points going into the half.
"It is just one of those things where you don't want to be in that situation," Curry said. "We would love to have started the game a lot better to give ourselves a chance."
The Warriors had a strong start to the 2024-25 campaign, winning 12 of their first 15 games. However, the team has struggled of late, winning just six of their last 20 games since Nov. 23.
Offensively, Golden State has failed to keep up with their opponents over the last two months. On Nov 13, they lead the Western Conference with an average of 121.3 points per game. That number has now dropped to 112.2. In the month of December, Golden State has recorded 120 or more points on just three occasions.
The departure of Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks this offseason was definitely a big loss for the team. The sharpshooting guard ranks fifth in the NBA's all-time 3-point leaderboard.
Over his 11 years with the Warriors, Steve Kerr has built a fast-paced and high-scoring offense that is capable of taking on the league's best teams. It was a strategy that led to the Warriors winning four championships between 2015-2022. This season, however, the offense has failed to match those previous highs.

Steph Curry finished the game with 30 points, 10 assists, six rebounds and a steal to guide his team to a 139-105 win against Philadelphia.
