Steph Curry had a rough-shooting night in the Golden State Warriors’ 107-104 road win against the Detroit Pistons on Thursday. The two-time MVP finished with 17 points on 5-for-21 shots, including 2-for-14 from behind the arc. He was questionable due to a left knee inflammation but was cleared to play an hour before the game.
The Warriors superstar surprised reporters by revealing an injury he has been dealing with (via Anthony Slater):
“Four games ago, it (hand) got whacked and it got whacked in the second quarter tonight. I’ll be fine, play through it, make shots. This is one of those annoying things.”

When asked if the injury bothered him, Curry responded:
“Of course, it was! I shot 5-for-21.”
Steph Curry added that the Warriors might have had a less suspenseful win had he made shots late against the Pistons.
The Dubs led 98-86 with 4:27 remaining but couldn't put away the stubborn home team, as Curry went 0-for-3 and committed a turnover. He made up for his misses, though, by sinking two crucial free throws with 14.1 seconds left to give the Warriors a 106-102 lead.
Curry has missed seven games this season because of knee issues. He's adamant about playing through the hand injury, but it's an issue worth monitoring., so the Warriors may be forced to hold him out to get the problem fixed.
The Golden State Warriors travel to Indiana for a matchup with the Pacers less than 24 hours after beating the Pistons. Steph Curry is likely back on the injury list due to knee and hand concerns. It’s anybody’s guess if he gets the green light to play on Friday.
Steph Curry isn’t the only injured Warrior
Steph Curry is one of several Golden State Warriors players dealing with injuries. Jonathan Kuminga (ankle), Brandin Podziemski (abdomen) and Gary Payton II (calf) were on the inactive list. Moses Moody was a late scratch because of knee issues. Andrew Wiggins is healthy but didn't play for personal reasons.
Draymond Green (ankle) and Dennis Schroder (hip) were questionable before the Pistons game but were cleared to play a few hours before tip-off against the Pistons.
Moody is listed as day-to-day, but there's no fixed timetable for the return of Kuminga, Podziemski and GP. It will be a big blow to the Warriors if Curry sits out because of left knee inflammation and/or hand injury.
Meanwhile, the win against the Pistons improved the Warriors’ record to 19-18 on the season. good enough for ninth in the Western Conference. Injuries to key players will make it tough for them to climb the standings, though.
