Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors has entered a partnership with Rakuten to help fashion designers from the Black in Fashion Council. Curry will use his platform to promote clothing brands and make them available via Rakuten, a company with a net worth of $8.43 billion.
In an exclusive report by People Magazine, Curry explained why he decided to work with Rakuten to help up-and-coming labels such as Advisry, Des Pierrot, Head of State, Pierre Blanc and Savant Studios. He wants to "shine a light" on talents who don't have the platform to take their designs to the next level.
"It's an awesome way to create representation in a field that needs it," Curry said. "I'm no designer, I'm no fashion mogul, but I know there are creative ways to shine a light on some amazing talent. I'm excited for the world to see these designers on a new stage.
"Most of the designers I've met for the first time. I heard their stories of how they got started in the industry and what inspires them and their brand. I met with Paul Richards, Keith Heron and Des Pierre Wo in person and saw their excitement on what it means to work on this project together."

Steph Curry has been a partner of Rakuten since 2019, but this recent collaboration will help the designers mentioned above grow their brand. Curry will wear different looks throughout the season, with the first one from Pierre Blanc on opening night.
All the looks that the four-time NBA champion wears during the season will be made available to buy via Rakuten. A new collection would be added to the online catalog every month. Watch out for the 35-year-old superstar's fit when he enters the tunnel for Tuesday's game against the Phoenix Suns.

What is Steph Curry's favorite tunnel look?
One part of the NBA that continues to change is the way players dress. They are their own brand, so looking great for the cameras is always a plus. Steph Curry always has the cleanest fits during tunnel walks, considering how crazy some players can be with their pregame outfits.
But what is Steph's favorite tunnel look? It's the two-piece wool suit he wore during the Golden State Warriors game against the Memphis Grizzlies.
"I need to be comfortable traveling and be able to get in and out of where I'm going," Curry said. "Then I usually wear stuff that I could wear to multiple different events, or venues, or for different reasons."
