Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr made his feelings clear about the team's inactivity leading up to the trade deadline. Kerr said he discussed it with GM Mike Dunleavey Jr. and concluded that the Warriors don't need any upgrades.
They are content with the current group despite a 17-16 record, and it "makes perfect" sense to retain everyone.
"We've been up and down this year but we like the group," Kerr said before Saturday's contest against the Grizzlies. "We like the people we have, and we really want to see how we play over the next month."

The Warriors' chances of ending up in the play-in bracket seem likely at the current rate. They are load-managing Steph Curry and don't have a reliable second option. Additionally, they only had five wins in 19 games before Saturday's game against Memphis.
The Warriors fanbase wasn't excited at all at Steve Kerr's revelation. One user on X blasted the organization's decision-making, saying:
"Warriors won 1 game against a bad 76ers team and now all of a sudden doesn’t think this roster is flawed… GSW won only 4 games in the month of December and Steph called this team “mid”.."
Another said:
"The Warriors seem to be content on being "mid" til the trade deadline when all the talent that can help the team will be all gone.... Great strategy "Dumleavy" & "Coach Clueless"..."
One fan added:
"I hate this front office and organization i swear they always do this every season im so done bruh"
"Kerr and the FO office are cooked. Ruining the last of Curry's years in the golden state," another said.
One fan said Steph Curry should request a trade.
"@StephenCurry30 request a trade big bro"
Warriors pull out of Jimmy Butler sweepstakes
Just hours before Steve Kerr revealed that the Warriors were content with the current roster, NBA trade rumors on the team's pursuit of Jimmy Butler suggested that Golden State was pulling out of his sweepstakes. The Warriors were reportedly among his favored landing spots.
However, according to The Athletic, the Warriors intend to retain wings Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga. Both, or at least one, will likely have to leave for Miami if Golden State wants to pursue Butler.
However, according to another report from insider Marcus Thompson, the Warriors are pursuing another upgrade in Nikola Vucevic. The Bulls could be among the sellers leading up to the trade deadline. Golden State has the contracts and picks for this deal, a cheaper alternative to acquiring Butler.
