Steph Curry soaked in the celebrations of winning the Paris 2024 Olympics gold with his young family, his wife, and his mother on the court after starring in Team USA’s remarkable 98-87 final victory over Victor Wembanyama and France in Paris.
Pundits and supporters have doubted Curry earlier this tournament, due to his poor outing but he showed them why that is a big mistake with a big game masterclass.
The 36-year-old, who is playing in his first Olympics, delivered a second straight devastating performance that will go down in the history books for several reasons.
Curry led his team with 24 points, all coming on 3-pointers, four of which came in the game’s final minutes. The game’s decisive moment came with 35 seconds left when, under pressure from France’s Nicolas Batum and Evan Fournier, he launched a deep, high-arching 3-pointer that put the U.S. ahead 96-87 – the superstar eventually got his hands on the gold for the first time.

Following the victory, the USA players celebrated with their family members and loved ones, and Curry joined his wife, Ayesha Curry, and kids, including a newborn baby, before receiving a kiss from his proud mother, Sonya.
His sister Sydel, brother Seth, and their families joined the on-court celebration, making the post-game moment a true family affair.
Steph Curry receives high praise from Team USA teammate
Steph Curry has been belittled for his slow start to the Olympic games. While there is an element of misfortune attached to that, he is playing his first ever Olympics, and he is coming off a disaster season with the Golden State Warriors and his ability to produce NBA-like performance was put to the test in the first few games.
Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards playfully teased Curry about that during an Instagram Live video on Sunday after Team USA's gold medal win.
"‘Ant says I just showed up three days ago,’ Curry joked with a laugh on Edwards' comment.
"My boy just got to Paris three days ago but we so glad he got here,” Edwards responded.
Curry and Edwards are rivals in the Western Conference during the NBA season but became teammates and friends after winning Olympic gold together.
Curry was fantastic throughout the knockout stages with his constant running and hustling on both ends of the court. The Warriors star successfully made 14 of his 26 3-point attempts in the tournament's two crucial games.
The United States now boasts 17 gold medals in men’s basketball history. While this marks their fifth consecutive gold, it is also Curry’s first gold medal.
