Former NBA player Matt Barnes could not help but weigh in on what Floyd Mayweather Jr. gifted to his grandson for Christmas. According to a report from TMZ Sports published on Tuesday, the undefeated boxing champion purchased property in Manhattan.
According to the report, the property is valued at $20 million. However, it was also later reported that this purchase was not something that Mayweather Jr. intended to keep for himself. According to reports, he gave the property as a gift to his grandson Kentrell Gaulden Jr., son of Iyanna Mayweather.
Barnes would later share his reaction to this generous gift from Mayweather Jr. to his grandson.
"Dope," Barnes said.

Matt Barnes had a fourteen-year NBA career where he played for nine different franchises. During his time in the league, Barnes established a reputation as a scrappy and gritty enforcer who was tasked with defending the top offensive players on opposing squads.
He won that championship with the Golden State Warriors squad during the 2017 NBA Finals. That squad featured the likes of Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston.
On Dec. 11, 2017, Barnes announced his retirement from playing professional basketball.
Matt Barnes once got into an argument with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a fan of the NBA and has been seen sitting courtside at some games. One instance where the boxing champion came to an NBA game was on Jan. 16, 2015. The LA Clippers hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers that day in the Crypto.com Arena, which was then known as the Staples Center.
During the game, Mayweather Jr. was seen heckling and talking trash to the Clippers, specifically to veteran Matt Barnes. Barnes did not back down and decided to jaw right back at the boxer.
Barnes would later on share what exactly was said between the two of them on the YouTube channel "djvlad."
"(Floyd Mayweather Jr.) says some slick s*** to me at a Clipper game," Barnes said. "So he was a Clipper fan and then I remember one time he Cleveland came in and he just flipped the script and he was just pom-poming for LeBron (James). I'm like 'what the f***' you're pom-poming for us all these games and now you're pom-poming for them. (0:09-0:26)
According to Barnes, Mayweather Jr. responded to him by saying that if he kept talking, he would commit explicit acts with the basketball player's wife.
"I said 'go ahead because I f*** your b****** and I ain't gotta pay them,'" Barnes continued. (0:33-0:37)
Barnes continued by saying that he and Mayweather Jr. have since made peace with each other.
Matt Barnes' stint with the LA Clippers was the longest he ever spent with a single franchise.
Barnes began his NBA career with the Clippers during the 2003-04 season. He later on returned to LA by signing a contract in free agency ahead of the 2012-13 season. He stayed as a Clipper until the conclusion of the 2013-14 season, after which he was traded to the Charlotte Hornets for Lance Stephenson.
