Steph Curry's mom Sonya Curry admits her experience of adultery with biblical references in tear-jerking moment: "I'm Eve"

Back in 2021, Steph Curry's parents, Sonya and Dell Curry, split after 33 years together. At the time, it was reported that Sonya Curry had filed for divorce, however, the pair also accused one another of infidelity, with Dell accusing Sonya of having an affair with a former NFL player. Sonya also accused Dell of "marital misconduct."

During an emotional appearance on "The Travis Hearn Podcast" this week, Sonya Curry discussed her faith, cryptically comparing herself to biblical figures while discussing repercussions she's had to face.

Although she didn't go into specifics, an emotional Sonya Curry said:

"I was going through the Bible, and ... I'm Eve. I'm the one who knew better, but wanted to know more. I'm Sarah, who God said, you're gonna have a child. And I was like, I'm gonna make this happen now.

"I gave that blessing away, and now I have to deal with these repercussions. I'm the overworker. When I should be sitting at his feet, when I should be sitting, reading his Word. And I've experienced adultery, I've experienced people throwing rocks."

"It is challenging" - Looking back at the time Steph Curry opened up on his parents' divorce

Throughout both Steph Curry and his brother Seth Curry's careers, Dell and Sonya Curry were often seen cheering on the two during their games. On one occasion, the couple even wore custom jerseys that featured both of their sons during a playoff series where the two were pitted against one another.

Then, in 2021, Dell and Sonya Curry called it quits. This left fans wondering how Steph Curry and the rest of the Curry family was handling things behind the scenes.

While Steph Curry initially kept quiet, in February of 2022, he opened up about navigating his parent's divorce while speaking with "The Ringer." Although he said that the situation had been challenging, the way his parents raised him played a big factor in his response:

“It’s challenging for sure. I could be mad and be like, ‘Y’all effed this up.’ I could have that approach. But it’s going to be an acknowledgment of both of y’all in terms of how y’all raised me. The calmness I have in myself is because of y’all.

"... I had to make sure I was in that moment with both of them separately and this wasn’t just this whole kind of thing. That is how I choose to approach that. Because it is challenging."

Since then, Dell Curry has remarried, however, Sonya Curry, on the other hand, hasn't remarried since the split.
