Sydel Curry-Lee, sister of Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, has made a name for herself as a content creator. To date, she has 677k followers on Instagram and 29.4k followers on TikTok. However, one of those social media platforms has gone into limbo — and Curry-Lee has quickly realized the dire implications.

Over the weekend, a ban was imposed on TikTok as a result of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling signed into effect by outgoing President Joe Biden. In an Instagram story posted on Sunday, Curry-Lee shared her honest feelings about this ban:

"So I just got hit with the biggest reality check of TikTok being gone," Curry-Lee said in the IG story. "I always watch TikTok when I wash my dishes."

Curry-Lee went on to show the spot on her kitchen counter where she props up her phone to watch TikTok while doing the dishes. She wrapped up the story by saying this:

"I'm so sad. Like, what the f..."

Aside from TikTok videos providing entertainment in the face of household chores, it's also possible that Curry-Lee is reacting to wider implications of the ban. Like a number of other social media platforms, TikTok has been an avenue for creators to monetize their content, provided that they hit certain quotas of followership and views.

Curry-Lee, like many other TikTok users in the U.S., is concerned about the wider implications of the ban. Unless the incoming Trump administration takes swift action, Curry-Lee and her fellow content creators (and consumers) will have to adapt to life without TikTok for a while.

Steph Curry snaps back at netizens speculating about Golden State trades

Steph Curry, who has 7.7 million followers on TikTok, has recently grown tired of online users making trade "suggestions" on yet another social media platform. After the Golden State Warriors' narrow 116-115 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, Curry took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out netizens:

"All the Twitter fingers who's got deals that we need to make can kind of shut up and let us figure this thing out," said Curry.

Over the past few days, the Warriors have been linked with trade targets like Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic and Indiana Pacers big man Myles Turner. Clearly, Curry has no interest in outside speculations and would rather focus on internal efforts to make the Warriors better.
