Steph Curry has played 16 seasons in the NBA, and the Golden State Warriors — the team that drafted him as the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft has seen stupendous success since, winning four titles with him on their roster. That's not all, however, as the Bay Area outfit has also seen solid success in its valuation over the last 15 years.
In a tweet that did the rounds on X (formerly Twitter), Curry's presence elevated the Warriors' valuation 30x. They were valued at $315M when he was drafted, and since have become a behemoth, currently valued at $9.14B to be the highest-valued NBA franchise.
Delving a bit deeper, a Bloomberg report from 2023 said that a group of the team's minority owners were looking to sell a 10% stake in the team. The value of which amounted to $7 billion. Following the Warriors are the New York Knicks at $8.3B, and the LA Lakers at $8.07B.

Golden State is also considered the second-most valuable franchise after the NFL's $10.3B Dallas Cowboys. An ESPN report added that the average team in the league is worth $4.6 billion, a sharp 15% jump from last year and nearly 2x the worth from 2020.
Popularity is a key contributor as well, and Steph Curry looked at as one of the best players in the league over the last two decades has been instrumental in the Warriors'' growth as an organization from a financial standpoint.
Warriors aiming for fifth title in the Steph Curry era
The Steph Curry era saw the Warriors go on to become a dynasty. They won four championships with him at the helm, and with new personnel in the fold, are looking to bag a fifth.
The 2024-25 NBA season has been a mixed one for Golden State so far. They were on a hot streak at the start of the season and occupied the top spot in the West for a brief period. However, a string of losses now sees them sit seventh with a 14-11 record. In their bid to bolster the chances of making a deeper playoff run and a title, the team is now looking to add another star name alongside Curry.
The Warriors recently traded for Brooklyn Nets PG Dennis Schroder to add more teeth to their playmaking department. Now it remains to be seen if they pull off a blockbuster trade before the deadline and give Steph Curry another shot at the championship.
