How did Steph Curry fare against the Brooklyn Nets?
The Golden State Warriors got off to a slow start, allowing the Nets to build a lead early in the first quarter. Steph Curry was not interested in being down big, so he sparked a run for Golden State. He had nine points on 3-for-4 shooting from beyond the arc as the Warriors were only down 34-30 after the first 12 minutes.
Curry also made his 3,800th 3-point shot in the first period, which is an absurd record. James Harden, who is No. 2 on the list, only has 2,988 made 3s.
In the second quarter, Steph Curry went scoreless after missing his three shot attempts, which were all from 3. Curry turned into a playmaker, dishing five assists to help the Golden State Warriors earn a 67-58 lead at halftime.
Curry came alive in the second half, especially in the third period as Golden State built an 18-point lead. The two-time MVP had eight points in the quarter, with the Warriors carrying a 92-87 lead heading into the final 12 minutes.
The Nets' second unit turned it on in the fourth quarter as they completed the comeback. Dennis Schroder was unstoppable despite being defended by Gary Payton II. He had 31 points and seven assists, while Ziare Williams, Jalen Wilson, Keon Johnson and Trendon Watford played their hearts out until the end to get the 128-120 victory.
The Warriors dropped to 12-5 for the season, but are still second in the Western Conference standings. They blew two big leads and will need to make some adjustments to their deep rotation, especially with the closing lineup.
Meanwhile, the Nets are now 8-10 and have won their second game in a row. They are 2-1 on their current road trip with two more away games against the Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic.
