Steph Curry squared off against his long-time rival LeBron James in the Golden State Warriors' highly anticipated Christmas Day clash against the Lakers on Monday. Despite delivering a stellar performance, especially in clutch moments, Curry's efforts fell short as the Lakers secured a narrow 115-113 victory.

Curry finished the game with 38 points, one rebound and six assists, shooting an impressive 14-of-24 from the field, including 8-of-15 from beyond the arc. He also went a perfect 2-for-2 from the free throw line and registered a plus/minus of -1 in 35:37 minutes.

Curry ended up playing extended minutes in the opening quarter as he logged 9:34 minutes, finishing with five points, one rebound and two assists. He shot 2-of-3 from the field, including 1-of-1 from beyond the arc.

Curry started the second quarter with his second 3-pointer of the game. The two-time MVP adopted an aggressive mindset, seizing every opportunity to create and take shots. He caught fire late in the period scoring eight quick points, including back-to-back 3-pointers.

At halftime, Curry had 16 points, one rebound and four assists on 6-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc.

Steph Curry struggled to carry over his momentum from the second quarter, having a relatively quiet third period. The Warriors superstar scored just five points as the home team attempted to rally and chip away at the deficit.

The two-time MVP erupted in the fourth quarter, scoring 17 points and hitting two consecutive clutch 3-pointers to keep the Warriors within striking distance. However, his heroic efforts weren’t enough as LeBron James, who finished with 31 points, ultimately guided the Lakers to a hard-fought victory.
