Stephen Jackson recently told a story about how Michael Jordan humiliated his own team back in 2010. At the time, Jordan recently became the majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. In a way, it was Jordan's first official return to basketball since his retirement in 2002. "His Airness" actively attended the Bobcats' games to observe how his team would fare against the other teams.

Upon observation, Michael Jordan wasn't pleased with what he saw. According to Stephen Jackson, Jordan was frustrated with the Bobcats to the point where he suited up for their practice to go against the starting five. While leading Charlotte's second unit, Jordan won the scrimmages for his squad, proving that the starters weren't good enough.

Jackson said:

“When I first got there, it was kinda rocky. I just got traded. So, we got our a** beat by somebody, and he came in the locker room after the game just going off on us, like, ‘We need to get our s**t together,’ right? I made some little comment or something like that. He ain’t say nothing."

Jackson continued:

"So, he came to practice the next day, back on that s**t. ‘Y’all think y’all did something?’ He started talking about all his accolades. ‘Take my shoes off.’ Because everybody had his shoes on. … Just going off on us right to the point where he gets on the second team in practice, and we lose! … This was in 2010... That’s why he the GOAT.”

Is Michael Jordan the GOAT?

Michael Jordan will forever be a basketball icon. He revolutionized the sport the moment he got drafted into the NBA. Everybody wanted to be like Mike. Everyone looked up to him because he could fly, score points at will, was a fierce competitor, and won six championships.

Jordan became the face of the NBA for a long time. He was able to dethrone many legends such as Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, and many more. In addition, Jordan's initial deal with Nike later on transformed into one of the biggest shoe brands today, Air Jordan.

Regarding the GOAT conversation, the only other player that comes to mind is LeBron James. James and Jordan have always been compared to each other ever since the former attained superstardom. Some feel that James is the GOAT, while a larger bunch still believe that Jordan still rules the throne.
