In his rookie season, Stephon Castle finds himself playing on one of the NBA's biggest days. He and the San Antonio Spurs are kicking off the Christmas Day slate at Madison Square Garden taking on the Knicks.
After being drafted fourth overall last summer, Castle finds himself coming off the bench for the Spurs. He is continuing to find his footing in the league, getting to learn behind an all-time great in Chris Paul.
Despite not being a full-time starter, Castle has been one of the league's top rookies through the first two months of the season. His first time playing on the holiday might not have been what he envisioned, but he still managed to provide a spark.
Here is a look at how Stephon Castle fared in his Christmas debut for the Spurs.

Led by a dominant outing from Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs found themselves within striking distance of a win on Christmas Day. However, the Knicks managed to spoil his historic performance. Following a pair of clutch offensive rebounds in the final minutes, New York was able to secure a thrilling 117-114 win.
Stephon Castle throws down highlight dunk over Jalen Brunson in Christmas Day debut
Stephon Castle only logged 16 minutes in his Christmas debut, limiting his impact on the game overall. However, the former lottery pick did manage to have one highlight play in his time on the floor.
In the final minutes of the first half, Wembanyama stopped a Josh Hart shot attempt that opened up a fastbreak play for the Spurs. He quickly kicked the ball to Chris Paul, who found a streaking Castle upcourt.
As the last line of defense for the Knicks, it was on Jalen Brunson to attempt to stop Stephon Castle. With a full head of steam, the Spurs rookie rose up and threw down a thunderous dunk over the All-Star guard.
Castle can now scratch playing on Christmas Day off his NBA checklist. It is something he should get used to, at least as long as he is playing alongside an emerging star like Wembanyama.
Looking ahead, Castle will attempt to continue building off his play in the early months of the season. If he continues to develop how he has thus far, the Spurs guard could find himself in the Rookie of the Year conversation.
