Amid the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr's 90-year-old mother's house was reportedly among those destroyed.
Per the San Francisco Chronicle's Ron Kroichick, Ann Kerr sent a "group text" on Wednesday "in response to friends and acquaintances" concerned about her safety. In it, she outlined how her Pacific Palisades house, where Steve grew up, "tragically burned" during the Palisades Fire, which began the day before.
Ann reportedly evacuated her home on Tuesday and has been staying with friends since then. She added in her text that she's "heartened by all (the) loving messages" she has received amid the devastation.

According to Kroichick, who journeyed to Ann's house in October for a feature on her "life and career," her family purchased the home in 1969. Steve, then four years old, reportedly split his childhood between there and the Middle East, where his late father, Malcolm H. Kerr, worked.
Per NBC Sports Bay Area, as of Wednesday afternoon, more than 1,100 buildings had burned, with at least five casualties across three LA County wildfires.
Steve Kerr offers condolences amid LA wildfire devastation that destroyed his mother's house
Following Tuesday's 114-98 home loss to the Miami Heat, Steve Kerr touched on the LA wildfires that decimated his mother's home. The nine-time NBA champion expressed sympathy for everyone affected by the tragedy, including Warriors player development staffer Everett Dayton.
"I want to send my thoughts and condolences to everybody in Los Angeles dealing with the fires," Kerr said. "My mom lives in Pacific Palisades; she had to evacuate. Everett Dayton on our staff, he grew up in Pacific Palisades, and from what I gather, his family home is lost.
"Everything I'm seeing and reading; it's just terrifying what's happening down there. So, I just want to send thoughts to everyone who's going through the devastation of the fire."
Coming off back-to-back blowout home defeats, Kerr's Warriors are gearing up for a four-game road trip. They resume play on Thursday against the Detroit Pistons. Given the circumstances, the veteran coach's mind could be preoccupied as his squad looks to get back on track.
