Steph Curry led the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday to a 118-112 win over Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics. Curry finished the game with 27 points on 8-for-17 shooting, including 4-for-9 from deep. The two-time MVP added nine assists, seven rebounds and four steals.

Tatum started slowly but exploded for 17 points in the third quarter. The All-NBA forward, however, couldn’t lead his team past the Dubs. Boston dropped its first home game of the season.

Fans promptly reacted to Curry’s performance after the game:

"HE IS BACK," another said.

One fan said:

“MVP charge starts now”

Another fan commented:

“Proud owner of the Celtics”

@dgsire stayed on the same line:

“he owns the celtics”

@Lancelot_eth couldn’t resist:

“Where are the people calling me crazy for saying Warriors would wipe the floor with Celtics?”

At one point, the Warriors had a 14-point lead behind Steph Curry’s playmaking and shooting. But, the Boston Celtics refused to easily go away in front of their rabid home fans who consistently booed Dubs coach Steve Kerr. The playoff-like atmosphere increased entering the fourth quarter.

Golden State had a slim 82-81 lead with a quarter left to play. The Celtics surged early on to grab the driver’s seat. Derrick White’s 28-footer gave the hosts a 95-88 advantage. The Dubs answered with an Andrew Wiggins floater before Curry scored six straight points.

Steph Curry’s layup with 3:27 remaining gave the Dubs a 100-99 lead and never looked back.

Steph Curry and the Warriors bounced back after a 52-point loss to the Celtics last season

The last time Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors visited TD Garden, they were run off the floor by Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics. Curry and Co. lost 140-88 to the eventual champs. Curry probably had the worst game of his career in that matchup.

“Chef Curry” scored four points on 2-for-13 shooting, including 0-for-9 from deep. He and Draymond Green, who had six points and four rebounds, were relentlessly trolled by Celtics supporters.

Tatum had 27 points, five assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block in that game. Jaylen Brown, who didn’t play on Wednesday due to a hip strain, had 29 points, three assists and three rebounds.

After the game, Steph Curry said the Dubs’ performance was “embarrassing” and vowed to improve the next time they visit Boston. The Warriors backed up their promise with a win against the defending champs.
