Jayson Tatum completed his amazing season by winning a gold medal with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. However, Tatum's stint with the national team was filled with controversy because he barely received any minutes under coach Steve Kerr.

Comedian Vince Staples posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, about "avenging" the Boston Celtics superstar. Tatum shared the tweet on his Instagram stories, which he eventually deleted.

But fans shared a screenshot of it on X. Here's the screenshot courtesy of @legionhoops:

Of course, NBA fans couldn't believe that Jayson Tatum would share something like it, considering he's coming off the best year of his career. He won an NBA championship, will be on the cover of NBA 2K25 and won his second Olympic gold medal.

So fans called him out for "crying" about what happened with Team USA. Here are some of the best tweets:

"Stop crying omg," one fan wrote.
"They won gold…Yet buddy still crying like a bitch lol" a fan replied.
"Avenge what? His 35% shooting percentage," another fan commented.

Jayson Tatum played in four of six games for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He received two DNPs under Kerr, which were against Serbia in the group stage and semifinals. His best outing came against Puerto Rico, recording 10 points and 10 rebounds in the final game of the group stage.

"Lmao dude won a chip n a gold medal … what's there to avenge?," a fan asked.
"Tatum isn't going to go on a revenge spree with his broken jumper. His shooting has been really poor lately. He's not going to light it up with just paint points and rebounds," one fan opined.
"Bro I try and defend Tatum then he does more corny sh*t like repost this lmao," another fan remarked.

Some analysts and former NBA players were confused by Steve Kerr's decision not to play Jayson Tatum for a lot of minutes.

Kerr, though, got the job done, thanks in large part to LeBron James, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant. His decision to use Devin Booker more often paid dividends with a gold medal win.

However, the lack of minutes and the two DNPs will linger over Tatum in the coming season. His mother, Brandy Cole, got involved by asking questions on social media about why her son didn't get more playing time for Team USA. Cole responded to ESPN's Dick Vitale's inquiry about the same issue.

Despite the result, Jayson Tatum will look to use the lack of minutes to fuel himself next season, winning the MVP, although another championship should be his main priority with the Boston Celtics.
