The “Inside the NBA” crew is known to have some fun during shows. This was the case during Thursday night’s halftime show for the Milwaukee Bucks versus Philadelphia 76ers game. During the show, the crew took turns taking lighthearted shots at NBA legend and long-time show host Charles Barkley.
Barkley was trying to recount a story that was told to him by San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich. However, before he could finish his sentence, he was jokingly interrupted by co-host Kenny “The Jet” Smith, who attempted to finish it for him.
Barkley started:
“Gregg Popovich, one of the greatest coaches ever, said something to me one time ...,"

Smith then joked:
“Stop eating?”
This was followed by another joke from fellow host Shaquille O’Neal, who also attempted to finish Barkley’s sentence.
O’Neal said:
“Don’t go to Krispy Kreme?”
The show's main host, Ernie Johnson Jr., then tried his best to get the guys back on track by taking a slightly more serious guess, suggesting:
“Not every play is designed for you, it’s just for us to score?”
Barkley then had a typically entertaining response.
“I’ll hit a man with glasses.”
Smith then subtly made one more joke referencing Barkley’s recent extension with TNT, reported to be worth between $100-200 million, as a lawsuit opportunity. He joked:
“Hey, you’re making a lot of money, please hit me.”
Once again, the crew demonstrated why their top-notch sense of humor and on-set chemistry makes them the most entertaining analysts in the business.

Kenny Smith gets his revenge
After Kenny Smith’s roast of Charles Barkley on Thursday night, some fans brought up the time Barkley roasted Smith last year.
The setup was the same. Smith was trying to tell a story about what his former Houston Rockets teammate, NBA legend Hakeem Olajuwon, used to tell him. Barkley then hilariously butted in to finish Smith’s sentence in one of his best roasts of all time.
Smith started off with:
“Hakeem Olajuwon used to say this to me all the time …,” .
Barkley joked:
“Kenny, bring me some water?”
Kenny Smith’s recent roast may not be on the same level as Charles Barkley's. But at least Smith was able to get a little bit of revenge. More importantly though, basketball fans were once again treated to a memorable halftime show.
