"Swaggiest duo": Shai Gilgeous-Alexander shares throwback childhood pic for 'twin' Thomasi's birthday

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has a close relationship with his younger brother, Thomasi. The NBA superstar often refers to the former Evansville Purple Aces guard as his “twin” in social media posts. In turn, Thomasi has described SGA as his biggest supporter and role model.

On Saturday, Thomasi’s birthday, the OKC Thunder franchise cornerstone dedicated several Instagram stories to his brother. SGA shared a throwback photo of the two with the caption:

“Swaggiest duo from time.”

The picture showed Shai Gilgeous-Alexander while holding Thomasi as a child. However, the post did not indicate their exact ages.

The celebration continued with a simple birthday greeting in Shai's first Instagram story:

“Happy bday twinnn.”

Sandwiched between these posts was a photo of Thomasi spending time with Ares Alexander, Shai’s son with his wife, Hailey Summers. The caption read:

The Instagram stories were posted a few hours before tipoff of the Thunder's game against the Charlotte Hornets. Although SGA and his teammates were in Charlotte for the matchup, he made sure to celebrate Thomasi's special day.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a strong performance for the OKC Thunder on his brother Thomasi’s birthday, leading the team to a 106-94 win against the Charlotte Hornets.

The All-NBA guard had a game-high 22 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals in 32 minutes, steadily orchestrating the Oklahoma offense to grab another road victory.

With the win, the Thunder improved their record to 24-5, the best in the Western Conference. While Shai couldn’t celebrate in person with his brother, his game-winning performance was a fitting birthday gift
