LA Lakers fans have had enough with their team after losing by 41 points to the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. Even Lakers legend Magic Johnson expressed his embarrassment over the blowout, sharing his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter).
In a post on X, Johnson couldn't believe that his beloved Lakers were getting decimated by the Heat. He expressed his frustration after the third quarter, when the team was already down by 32 points. It got worse in the final period as Miami continued to batter the 17-time NBA champions.
"I'm embarrassed for the Lakers. They were down 32 points to the Miami Heat 105-72 at the end of the third quarter," Johnson said.

LA Lakers fans then begged Johnson to return to the franchise and take over as general manager to replace Rob Pelinka. Some even called on him to convince Jeanie Buss to sell the team.
"Come back and take over bruh Pelinka stinks bad," a fan responded.
"Use your influence and force Jeannie buss to sell the team. She's ruining her father's legacy. And fire Pelinka as well," one fan replied.
"Magic go stretch, dust off the jersey, and unretire. This is embarrassing ASF," another remarked.
Magic Johnson served as president of basketball operations for the Lakers from 2017 to 2019. Johnson was instrumental in bringing LeBron James to Hollywood in 2018, a move that resulted in a championship in 2020.
"FIRE ROB PELINKA! For putting this atrocious product for a dynasty like the Lakers. Drafting Bronny was diabolical and purely financial decision to appease LeBron," a fan ranted.
"You would've had the lakers looking like the best team in the NBA. Rob can care less," one fan opined.
"Never seen a team break down like the Lakers as soon as something isn't going to plan. Besides LeBron none of them really can play with out a specific offensive and defensive system & if that system has one tiny bug in it, the entire falls apart," another fan commented.
The LA Lakers front office didn't make any drastic moves in the offseason, failing to sign big-name free agents. Their biggest additions were rookies Dalton Knecht and Bronny James.
Possible LA Lakers trade targets
The LA Lakers still have a winning record, but the front office may need to make some changes to help their aging roster. The team is likely to be active on the trade market, looking to add key players before the trade deadline.
Several players have been linked to the Lakers, including Brandon Ingram, Jonas Valanciunas, Nick Richards, Day'Ron Sharpe, Kyle Kuzma, Jerami Grant and Robert Williams III.
