NBA fans are not happy with Anthony Edwards after showing unsportsmanlike behavior following the Minnesota Timberwolves' Game 5 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Edwards didn't congratulate Mavs players after the game and went straight to the locker room.

The Mavericks advanced to the NBA Finals for the third time after beating the Timberwolves 124-103 in Game 5 at the Target Center. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving scored 36 points each to lead the Mavs to an easy closeout win.

Edwards had a good game, but it wasn't enough to keep Minnesota's season alive. He had 28 points, nine rebounds and six assists, while Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 28 points and 12 rebounds.

NBA fans berated Anthony Edwards for not showing any sportsmanship to the Dallas Mavericks. They pointed out Edwards' trash talk during the series and then failing to recognize that the Timberwolves lost to the better team.

"Talked the talk but couldn't walk the walk," one fan wrote.
"Couldn't wait to board the plane to Cancun!" another fan commented.
"Totally disrespectful. Good on KAT for doing it right. Edwards has a lot to learn," a fan remarked.

Other fans pointed out Anthony Edwards' claim after Game 4 that there would be a Game 6 in Dallas. Edwards even promised fellow Adidas athlete and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons a pair of shoes.

"He's cocky and a baby. Just got thoroughly humbled," a fan chimed in.
"Luka should ask him for his shoes so he can hand it to Micah," one fan joked.
"He had to rush off to Pack and Ship so Micah could get those kicks .. cheaper to do it from the U.S. than Cancun," another fan commented.

While the video above showed that Anthony Edwards didn't congratulate the Dallas Mavericks on their victory, it was a different story at the back. The NBA shared an image of Edwards shaking hands with Luka Doncic outside the locker rooms.

It might be a relief for some fans of "Ant-Man," given how much he talked during the postseason and failing to back it up resulted in something unsportsmanlike. It was great to see the two young superstars give respect to each other after a five-game series.

At the age of 22, Edwards has some growing to do on and off the court. He has the potential to be one of the all-time greats, but 2024 was not his year. The Timberwolves have a good core and good coaching staff, so they will likely remain contenders next season.
