Tari Eason's mother justifies Amen Thompson's 'violence' against 'victim' Tyler Herro: "Hate taunting and cockiness"

Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason watched from the sidelines as his teammate Amen Thompson and Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro scuffled. The skirmish, which nearly turned into a full-blown brawl, happened near the Heat bench. Thompson tossed Herro to the ground after they bumped and grabbed each other near the sidelines.

Teroya Eason, mother of Tari, reacted to the sequence:

“I’m a gentle giant and I don’t condone violence, but I hate taunting and cockiness and that’s why Amen lifted that man off the ground and tossed him across the court like juggernaut. I think Herro should change his name to victim and I don’t feel a thing!!!!!! Goodnight.”

Teroya’s comments added more controversy to the incident. Rockets coach Ime Udoka also took a shot at Herro during his post-game press conference. Udoka said there was nothing to the scuffle except that Thompson was stronger than Herro.

Tari Eason’s mother is a staple in Houston Rockets home games and never fails to show support for her son and his team on X, formerly Twitter. It wasn’t surprising she had something to say even though her son was sidelined with an injury.

The play resulted in the ejection of Tyler Herro and Terry Rozier of the Miami Heat. Houston Rockets coaches Ime Udoka, Ben Sullivan, Amen Thompson and star guard Jalen Green were also tossed out.
