Team USA overcame a slow start to decimate Canada 86-72 in an exhibition game in Las Vegas on Wednesday (July 10). The star-studded side got the better of a young Canadian unit, with a LeBron James-Steph Curry lob connection serving as the evening's highlight.
The exhibition game had 10-minute quarters instead of the 12-minute durations seen in the NBA. Team USA started slowly and trailed Canada for most of the first quarter. However, the bench led by Anthony Davis, Anthony Edwards, and Jayson Tatum provided the spark to get Team USA back on track.
Team USA led Canada 41-33 at halftime after trailing 21-14 in the first quarter. The second half saw the Davis-led second unit take over for 27 points.
As the game inched to a close, head coach Steve Kerr emptied the bench.
