Team USA took on South Sudan in an exhibition game on Saturday in preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics later this month.
USA had a hot start to the game and scored eight unanswered points. However, that dominant start did not last long as South Sudan chipped away at their lead and by the three-and-a-half minute mark, had taken a two-point lead, 18-16. Both teams continued to exchange buckets toward the end of the first but South Sudan carried their two-point lead into the second quarter (26-24).
The Americans allowed their opponents to go on a massive scoring run and at the six-minute mark of the second, trailed by as much as 15 points (43-28).
By the end of the first half, LeBron James and company found themselves trailing by 14 (58-44). However, Team USA stepped up in the third quarter and outscored South Sudan 37-18 to regain the lead.

South Sudan kept pace with their formidable opponents in the fourth and took a one-point lead at 101-100. However, LeBron James' crucial lay-up with eight seconds left put the USA in front for good.

LeBron James fires Team USA to narrow win but Steph Curry struggles
Steph Curry and LeBron James are expected to be the leaders for Team USA in the Paris Olympics.
Curry, a known sharpshooter, struggled to make baskets against South Sudan. He finished with 12 points and went 3-9 from behind the arc.
Meanwhile, LeBron James led the scoring for the Americans. He posted 23 points, six rebounds and six assists, but struggled to keep hold of the ball and committed four turnovers.
South Sudan was powered by Marial Shayok, who had 24 points. Carlik Jones posted a triple-double, but missed the game-winning bucket.
