Group C's opening day of the 2023 FIBA World Cup has commenced and Greece took the first win on Saturday night. Greece came out on top with a 21-point victory over Jordan.

Thomas Walkup came up huge for the Greeks thanks to his stellar shooting performance. He knocked down three long-distance shots which added to their commanding lead throughout the game.

However, Jordan's Rondae Hollis-Jefferson didn't make it easy for Greece. Rondae put on a show in the Mall of Asia Arena with 24 points and nine rebounds. He carried his team all throughout the game and nearly caught up with the Greeks. Unfortunately, none of his other teammates were able to keep up with his tempo, which led to Jordan's demise.

Thanasis Antetokounmpo struggled to find his rhythm on offense, but he still provided Greece with much-needed defense to help stop Jordan from making a comeback. Antetokoumpo had nine points, five rebounds, and one block.

On paper, his stats don't look impressive, however, his presence inside the paint definitely intimidated Jordan from attempting to attack the basket too often.

Greece is expecting to play against Team USA on Monday and has a lot of momentum on their side.
