Giannis Antetokounmpo powered the Milwaukee Bucks to a thrilling 127-120 overtime victory over the Detroit Pistons at Fiserv Forum on Wednesday. The two-time NBA MVP delivered an astounding 59-point performance, leading the Bucks (4-8) to their fourth win of the season.

Giannis attempted two shots from beyond the arc, hitting one crucial 3-pointer in overtime that sparked his excitement. The 2021 NBA Finals MVP celebrated with a gesture that quickly went viral on social media, with fans sharing candid reactions to his antics.

Giannis Antetokounmpo vs. Detroit Pistons

Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered one of the most remarkable performances of the 2024-25 NBA season, showcasing his dominance across all facets of the game. With fellow superstar Damian Lillard sidelined, Giannis took on the responsibility of leading the Milwaukee Bucks to victory.

The eight-time All-Star stuffed the stat sheet, finishing with 59 points on 21 of 34 shooting, including 1 of 2 from beyond the arc in 43:37 minutes. He also contributed 14 rebounds, seven assists, two steals and three blocks. Giannis was unstoppable in overtime, hitting his five attempts and sealing the win for the Bucks.

"At the end of the day nobody said it’s going to be easy," Giannis said after the game. "I remember the year we won a chip we didn’t start the season very well but at the end of the day we never gave up.. No matter who plays, we never give up."

With his performance against the Pistons, Giannis now holds the record for the most games with at least 50 points and 10 rebounds since the 1976 NBA/ABA merger (nine). Following his heroic display, he is averaging 33.3 points, 12.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game on an impressive 61.6% shooting this season.
