"That lost them the game": Fans roast Bogdan Bogdanovic for mimicking signature Carmelo Anthony celebration

Serbia captain Bogdan Bogdanovic faced the ire of American basketball fans after Nikola Jokic and Co. suffered a 95-91 defeat to Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics semifinal on Thursday. Bogdanovic was pumped for the crunch knockout clash and came out with aggression.

Serbia surged ahead with hot shooting from the 3-point range. Bogdanovic made huge plays throughout the game and knocked down tough and contested jumpers from beyond the arc.

After sinking a 3-pointer, the Atlanta Hawks sharpshooter mimicked Carmelo Anthony's iconic "three to the dome" celebration. Bogdanovic stared down Anthony, who was sitting in the front row, and unleashed the iconic celebration.

After Team USA registered a comeback victory, fans roasted Bogdanovic for taunting the former New York Knicks superstar.

"That lost them the game imo," a fan opined.

"Its supposed to '3 to the dome' not 4. and thats exactly how much they lost by. 95-91. usa. it was written to turn back on him," commented another fan.

"They gone cook him when the season start," said another X user.

One of the fans fired a shot at Bogdanovic's celebration after Serbia failed to close out the game.

"Cute. Gotta hold that L after an epic collapse, though."

Another fan criticized Serbia's captain for celebrating too soon.

"Celebrated a little too soon buddy, that turned to tears not too long after."

"That's were they woke up team USA," another fan wrote.

Bogdan Bogdanovic's performance vs Team USA

Bogdan Bogdanovic carried the load on the offensive end and was Serbia's leading scorer against the USA.

The 31-year-old veteran scored 20 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the field, including 3-of-10 from the 3-point range. The Hawks star also grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists.

After the game, Bogdanovic accused the officials of being biased towards Team USA.

"We tried to talk to (the officials). They didn't try to talk to us," Bogdanovic said after the game.

"They just walked away. But it's OK. The USA doesn't need that type of help against us. You know, we didn't have that type of help when they were grabbing us with two hands and all that," he added.

Bogdan Bogdanovic and Serbia will be in action in the bronze medal game against Germany on Saturday. Nikola Jokic and Co. will be gunning to win Serbia's third medal at the Olympics Games. The European country won a silver medal in 1996 and 2016.
