Vince Carter gives his opinion on Ja Morant's decision to stop dunking

There is little doubt that Ja Morant is among the top players in the league with an electrifying presence on the court. Morant has the physical ability to take flight for the dunk and the heart to put a 7-foot defender on a poster, which he almost did.

However, there is no denying that Morant has also suffered several injury setbacks due to his dangerous dunking. In light of his last injury, Morant announced that he would no longer be dunking in NBA games.

His decision, as much as it might prove beneficial for his team, didn't sit well with fans and certainly not with the dunking GOAT Vince Carter. In conversation with former NBA players Danny Green and Chandler Parsons on "Run It Back", Carter gave his take on Ja Morant's decision.

"You don't think about injuries. I mean, anybody else who dunks the ball, you don't really see injuries unless there's these little guards who shouldn't be up there. But he's—here's a guy who can do that. He's athletic enough," Carter said on "Run It Back."
"It's more so learning to protect yourself and time and place. Sometimes you don't take the dunk where you're trying to jump over the seven-footer, but then there's times where it needs to be done." (8:00)

Despite being dead serious about not dunking in the NBA game, Ja Morant tried to dunk on 7-ft-4 Victor Wembanyama. Perhaps, Morant couldn't control his instincts.
