Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic was furious with the referee after not being given a foul call during a play in the 136-115 win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday. Seemingly cursing the ref in Serbian, the Slovenian star's reaction left many NBA fans in stitches as they reacted to his outburst on social media.

Many took to X (formerly Twitter) to discuss Luka swearing at the referee as a Lakers fan handle posted a clip of it on the social media platform. Captioning the video with a short message, the fan account wrote:

"Luka cursed at the ref in Slovenian," following it with two laughing emojis.

However, fans were quick to correct the handle, pointing out that Luka was cursing in Serbian and not Slovenian:

"Serbian, not Slovenian. Slovenians don't have such a juicy curse. This one is hardcore," corrected one fan.
"Serbian to be exact," expressed a second dropping a laughing emoji.

Despite the uncertainty about the language being spoken, one fan in particular was pumped to see some "Balkan" representation:

Fans also laid it out on the referee in the comments with many insinuating that fouls on Doncic are never called by the match officials:

"Bro ts getting crazy with the no calls," claimed one.
"Dude. What the f**k is with refs never calling fouls against him? It's weird," expressed another.
"Begin to understand more and more why is Luka arguing with the refs. They killing him every time he gets the ball. Refs need to start blowing their whistles ffs! 🤬," a fan called out.

According to a few Serbian fans in the comments, Doncic reportedly said "mamu ti jebam", which roughly translated to "f**k your m***er". Given that it was a hard fall, and the play carried on, one can understand why Doncic would use such language towards the referee in the heat of the moment.

Luka Doncic scores big as LeBron reaches another career milestone

The Los Angeles Lakers regained their second spot in the Western Conference after a 136-115 win over the New Orleans Pelicans at the Crypto.com Arena. This is their seventh win in a row, and the Purple and Gold have become a legitimate threat in their conference after trading for Luka Doncic in February.

The former Mavericks star dropped 30 points, dished out 15 assists, and collected eight rebounds as he continues to thrive in Los Angeles. However, it was LeBron James who led from the front as he recorded 34 points and became the first player in history to reach 50,000 combined points.

Reaching his latest milestone after sinking in a 3-pointer early in the first quarter LeBron James continues to defy the odds as a 40-year-old. This performance by James and Doncic earned the Lakers their seventh consecutive victory as they are 8- 2 since the Slovenian's debut against the Jazz on February 10.

After welcoming the New York Knicks in the final home game of their six-game homestead on Thursday, the Lakers will then travel on the road for four consecutive games. They will face the Celtics, Nets, Bucks, and the Nuggets and will hope to continue their fine form away from home.
