LA Lakers coach JJ Redick had an odd moment in a car wash. According to former Golden State Warriors star Baron Davis, he saw the coach deep into watching film while having his car washed. Davis shared this moment of dedication from the former NBA player on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday.

Ahead of the Lakers' game against the Phoenix Suns on Monday, Redick talked about it to the media.

"It's really not [common]. It's the circumstance of the back-to-back," Redick said.

Redick was reviewing the team's defensive schemes following their second game of a back-to-back. Before Saturday's 131-127 win against the Sacramento Kings, the Lakers faced the Suns and won 123-116.

"Our cars have not been washed since we moved to LA in mid-August, and my kids had two basketball games, and the car wash is next door to the gym. So, in between games, I was shuttling back and forth the three cars. Very efficient use of time to also just watch film on the laptop. I got everything done. I mean, I watch a lot of film, but that's not normal. No, that's not normal."

Redick and the Lakers traveled to Phoenix for their game tonight against the Suns, and Los Angeles is looking to end the night with a 4-0 record. After tonight's game, the team will travel to Cleveland as they continue their five-game road trip.

JJ Redick likes the idea of playing LeBron James the entire season

Playing 82 games is a significant achievement for most NBA players nowadays. With load management, teams tend to rest players. While some players, like LeBron James, love to play every game of the season, teams take precautionary approaches to prevent them from getting seriously hurt.

After the Lakers won the first game of their season last Tuesday, James shared that he wants to play every game this season if he stays healthy. JJ Redick understands what his star player said and gave his take following their win against the Kings.

"I didn’t see the quote, I just think most players go into a season, most players, not every player, obviously every player is different and their medical history is different and all of that stuff, but most players go into a season wanting to play 82 games," Redick said. "So if that’s what he wants to do, great. Love it. I would love to have him for 82. We’ll manage the minutes accordingly."

In his 22-year career, James has only played 82 games in a single season once, in the 2017-18 season. If he stays healthy, this might be the second season of his career where he plays every game.
