Over the weekend, news emerged that an old investigation around Jaxson Hayes was reopening after three years. Following this development, his girlfriend took to social media to set the record straight.
A video surfaced from an encounter between Hayes and his then-girlfriend, Sophia Jamora. It was from a doorbell camera, where the two argued and Jamora accused him of domestic violence. Hayes is later seen spitting in Jamora's direction.
Hayes is now dating Casey Braxton. After the footage was released, her social media was flooded with people asking if she was the woman in the clip. Braxton posted on her Instagram story to clarify the situation.

"I appreciate the love and the kindness, but that video is NOT ME. No need to follow or dm," Braxton wrote.
Hayes was with the New Orleans Pelicans at the time of the first investigation but now plays for the LA Lakers. He has appeared in six games this season and averages 5.0 points and 4.2 rebounds.
JJ Redick offers response to Jaxson Hayes investigation being reopened
Following a long playing career, JJ Redick is now the coach of the LA Lakers. While his team has started the season strong, one of his players is involved in an off-court scandal.
With a player being investigated for potential domestic violence, it can create a dark cloud over a team. On Sunday, Redick finally broke his silence on the issue and said that the team is aware of the situation and plans to cooperate, but he won't speak further on the matter.
"We're obviously aware that the investigation has been reopened and we're going to cooperate fully," Redick said, per Jovan Buha. "But other than that, I'm not going to have another comment on that."
It's unclear what Jaxson Hayes' availability will be as the investigation continues. To open the season, Hayes has been the primary backup to Anthony Davis at center.
There have been instances in the past where teams have kept players away while there is an ongoing investigation. However, depending on the case, teams have also opted to keep a player around despite the outside noise. Last season, Josh Giddey continued to play for the OKC Thunder while an investigation took place.
