This summer, LeBron James is attempting to add a third Olympic gold medal to his already historic resumé. Fans were recently left divided following a report on where he stands regarding the Team USA roster.
For the first time in years, the U.S.'s roster is loaded with some of the NBA's top superstars. Aside from LeBron, other players participating include Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Joel Embiid and Jayson Tatum.
Following a few days of training camp, players on Team USA were asked who they felt the best player on the team was. Shockingly, 39-year-old LeBron James was the consensus answer.

After seeing this news, some NBA fans on social media agreed the LA Lakers star is still the team's top talent.
Meanwhile, other fans attempted to dispute this claim.
"He literally isnt tho," one fan said.
"He’s not even the best player on his own NBA team," another fan said.
"Cap, Tatum easily is the best player on the squad." Said one fan.
Despite the fact that he's turning 40 later this year, LeBron is still playing at a high level in the NBA. He is coming off a season with the Lakers where he averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists.
As for the Olympics, this is LeBron's first time competing since the 2012 games.
LeBron James in awe of talent level of Team USA
Through the early stages of camp, LeBron James has been credited by many for his elite level of play. Based on some of his recent comments, the 20-time All-Star seems to be rejuvenated playing alongside such an impressive group of talent.
When talking about the team as a whole, LeBron is still amazed at the group that was assembled. He jokingly referred to them as the greatest AAU team of all time.
“(It’s like) somebody put the greatest AAU team of all time (together)," LeBron said. "It’s super cool. That was dope. And then being on the floor with those guys just got me even more respect for them.”
Having not played in the Olympics in so long, LeBron James isn't used to being flanked by so many elite-level players. Throughout his 20-plus year run in the NBA, he is used to facing off against some of his current teammates. Most notably, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant.
Some of America's top talents have come together this summer to get Team USA back on top in international play. While they've assembled an impressive collection of talent, the road to gold is not going to be easy. With so many stars coming together on one team, Team USA has a target on their back as the one squad everyone wants to take down.
Looking at the field of competition, one of Team USA's biggest threats will be France. They are led by a pair of seven-footers in Victor Wembanyama and Rudy Gobert.
