In a surprising turn of events, Draymond Green was seemingly apologetic towards Jordan Poole after Steph Curry and the Warriors' 122-114 win over the Wizards on Saturday. Green said sorry in a tweet replying to a viral view of Poole taking a cheeky dig at him for their infamous altercation that occurred in October 2022.
Green punched Poole in practice, and the following offseason, the young guard was shipped to Washington for Chris Paul. After Saturday's game at Chase Center, Poole showed love to his former teammates but not all of them. Here's what he said:
"I love those guys over there. I love most of those guys over there."
Meanwhile, Green tweeted from his account in response to that, saying:

"I really am sorry"
Green has previously mocked Poole and the situation, but it was the first time he sounded apologetic. However, fans weren't buying his comments. Green was slammed online for it, with one fan blaming him for Steph Curry potentially not winning two more championships because of his altercation with Poole.
"you're the reason curry doesn’t have 6 rings right now fk outta here man," the fan wrote.
Many believed that the incident disrupted the then-defending champions' chemistry and impacted Jordan Poole negatively.
"It’s too late for that," another added. "Your ego and pride is what caused the downfall of the Warriors."
"The fact that this isn’t a parody account is wild lmao dude sucker punched Poole in practice . If their wasn’t footage he wouldn’t be sorry," one fan said.
Another tweeted:
One fan joked about the trending TikTok ban impacting Draymond Green's behavior.
"TikTok ban got everyone in their feels"
One fan reminded Green that he was trolling Poole a month ago.
"you were literally mocking him a month ago lol"
Jordan Poole and Steph Curry duel in former's return to Bay Area
Before Draymond Green grabbed the headlines with his response to Jordan Poole's jab at him, the Warriors-Wizards game was in the spotlight for Steph Curry's duel against his former backcourt partner. Poole and Curry went toe-to-toe in this matchup. Poole dropped 38 points, five rebounds and five assists, shooting 48.0%, including 8 of 15 from 3.
Meanwhile, Curry had a 26-point outing with five rebounds and six assists. He shot 45.5% and made four triples. While Poole won the individual matchup, Curry had the last laugh after grabbing the win. He had Andrew Wiggins to thank for providing him solid support as the forward scored 31 points and hit clutch shots down the stretch.
